Today is a perfect rainy day. I'm sitting here in the studio listening to The Smiths while working and mentally planning for the year. As the New Year quietly slipped by I've been giving a lot of thought to the previous year and everything that lays ahead. I have some new plans in store for the upcoming year, and I feel ready to embrace new ideas.

November has arrived and I can't believe we are almost face-to-face with 2012 but it's almost here. Things have been busy in the studio. I'm working on a new online store that will feature some fun illustrations and other work of mine, as well as booking portrait sessions and taking any available chance I have to indulge creativity.

It's been a challenging week. We had family go to the hospital in an emergency situation, I've been running around trying to do everything I can this week, and JB has been doing the same. I meant to decorate the house for Halloween, to run some errands, and a myriad of other things on my to do list, but never found the time. Sometimes priorities just shift and you have to be ok with what you can do when you are doing your best.
Today I woke up to snow. I love winter, so that was a nice way to start the weekend. I decided to just spend some time relaxing outside with the dogs and took some of their photos. Maybe a few will make it onto the holiday cards this year.

I feel like when things happen... such as a surprise snow storm in October, I'm reminded of how amazing life can really be and that you never know what is waiting around the corner for you but whatever it is, even if it is unexpected, it could be incredible.
