Michelle Bodamer Photography: Ice Storm This Morning!

This morning we had an ice storm, and I really couldn't resist taking a few photographs of the trees completely encased in ice. Of course while I was out there I accidentally fell over into a huge snow hill and Justin had to pull me out! But it was worth it for the photographs!

Here are a few of the shots I took today...

I was so taken with the beauty of the ice that I honestly didn't even mind falling into the snow!  Although I'm sure Justin found it amusing to find me stuck in it when he came outside to check on me.

All of this winter weather aside, if you are sitting there with some hot chocolate and looking for something cool to check out online, you might want to check out this year's thing-a-day for February. Thing-a-day is an annual creative sprint that takes place online throughout the month of February. One of my good friends is also participating in this event, she is a paper crafter. To see her work, or learn more about her cards and scrapbooks check out her site! This year there are over 500 contributors! So many interesting projects, you definitely want to check it out!

This weekend the Walking The Edge group art show will have its closing reception at the Antonio Salemme Foundation. The reception is Saturday, February 5th at 7pm. Here is a write-up of the opening by the Morning Call. I have two pieces in this show, so if you would like a free, indoor activity for Saturday night swing by the gallery and support local artists!

Montgomery County: "P" Family Portraits - The Cutest Toddler with Pigtails!

One of my friends that I've known my entire life stopped by for a visit tonight. She's great, we have a lifetime's worth of memories and since we no longer live in the same state, we have to try to make time to visit when we can.  Today she stopped by, we took some photos, and had pizza! What is so great is that I got to see her daughter who is now a toddler! I actually shot her newborn portraits over a year ago, you can check them out here.

When my friend and I were younger, there is a picture of us from around 5 or 6 years old wearing pigtails and roller skates. It's such a great picture because I feel like it says so much about friendship and being a kid at that age. So tonight when her daughter was also wearing pigtails, I just couldn't resist snapping a few portraits!  Here are a few shots from tonight...

Isn't she so cute? I was amazed at all that she was saying, and she loved our dogs. It's always great to visit with friends!
