Things have been pretty hectic lately, but it's a great feeling! I've been working a lot but it feels fantastic. While there are many things going on behind the scenes, here are just some of the projects that deserve some attention:
Art + Community on Handmade in PA - I recently started blogging for Handmade in PA and I am currently writing for their Art + Community series. Handmade in PA is a blog from the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen, which has many chapters reaching into local communities in the Keystone state. Showcasing Pennsylvania's fine artists and craftsmen is just a part of their mission which also includes advocacy, education and support. Definitely check out the Handmade in PA blog as well as the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen web site. As for my series, you can experience the Lehigh Valley (and surrounding areas) art scene by following along as I attend local markets, and meet amazing artisans. My article is published bi-weekly and features my perspective as well as my photography. Recent articles include:
The Emmaus Farmers' Market: Meet Local Farmers And Food Artisans
Handwerkplatz: The Handmade Arts At Musikfest
Discover Allentown Art Works: Emerging Local Arts Scene In The Valley
An Arts Infused First Friday At The Banana Factory Arts Center
The Doylestown Arts Festival: A Stroll Through Historic Streets Filled With Artisans
Quakertown Alive! - I've also been working with Quakertown Alive! They have a great event coming up which will help raise funds for a revitalization project in their community. The Pumpkin Ball gala is a black tie affair featuring an exclusive unveiling of “Quakertown Roots”, Steve Tobin’s first local exhibit right in Quakertown. The funds raised from this event will benefit the purchase of a directional kiosk to be located in the newly renovated center of downtown Quakertown. The kiosk will enhance the community by serving the needs of residents, visitors, and local businesses. The kiosk will provide local event information, bulletins, walking-guide maps, and centralized communications specific to the Quakertown community. Tickets to the gala are now available!
The Baum School of Art - I recently participated in The Baum School of Art Faculty and Staff annual exhibit. Additionally, the school has a wonderful upcoming, black tie optional event: The Fall Gala. This event is on Saturday, October 13th, and begins at 6pm. Contact The Baum School of Art for more information on attending the 2012 Fall Gala.
Additional updates coming soon, keep checking the site for more information on my communications and visual arts work, community arts, and events!

This year my work is featured in the Baum School of Art Faculty & Staff Exhibition. The show features many talented artists and even though the opening reception has passed, the art will be on display until September 7th. One notable inclusion this year is the participation of the staff of the school in addition to the faculty. The Baum School of Art is fortunate because there are a lot of dedicated artists who help to run the facility. If you are in the area definitely stop by to check out this show.
